Business Technology Made Simple

Conjungo - uniting buyers and suppliers

We are delighted to open the doors to our blog today. This is where you will hear about what’s happening at Conjungo, where we will comment about interesting and useful research and news, and where you can follow the story behind the company.

To start with I thought it would be useful to introduce you to Conjungo, who we are and what we stand for.

The idea for Conjungo was born a while back when I ran a number of SME businesses that required various solution providers for the technology I needed at the time. It was so hard for technology buyers to find suppliers. The idea was further validated during my time with Bloor Research, one of the UK’s leading ICT analysis firms where, through discussions with end users, it became clear that the whole issue of supplier identification for SME’s was indeed widespread.  And not only finding a local reseller of a particular product or solution, but also finding a supplier who has the right vertical expertise, the right accreditations, and based in the right location.

I found that most people I spoke to were really struggling. They would start their searches in Google – or another general search engine – but end up disappointed because they couldn’t find what they wanted or if they did it was a vendor and the journey to a localised provider was too complex and long.

On the other hand, I also noticed that it was hard for vendors to show potential buyers of their technology where to go to actually buy something. Many vendors make it hard for buyers to search for and locate their resellers worldwide. They don’t do this on purpose; most of them just don’t have the know-how or resources to build an effective reseller search facility.

Our idea, validated by end users, was to build a vertical search facility for technology buyers to find their perfect partners; the suppliers that are located down the road, who has the experience of dealing with the type of company you want and who you find it easy to pick up the phone to. Enter Conjungo.

Conjungo is the Latin word for ‘unite’, which in essence is what we want to achieve. We want to unite technology buyers with suppliers, creating an environment where it’s easy for buyers to find the type of suppliers they want and where they can easily access a range of other buyer services that reduces their time and effort spent on evaluating and buying technology.

We also wanted to create a place where vendors can list their entire channel in an easily searchable format and somewhere they can promote their partners online to a targeted audience, not just the general public.

Our first goal has been to build a solid search directory with enough content to satisfy any UK-based technology buyer. We now have over 15,000 suppliers listed in our directory at the moment and it’s increasing all the time as we speak to new vendors from all technology areas. We have now started to open our doors to end users and we are looking forward to hearing their feedback.

If you are curious about the people behind the company I suggest you visit our Team page. You will hear from Ben, Tabita and me regularly on this blog and we appreciate any comments or feedback you have for us.
